The Valley of the Kings was a necropolis in ancient Egypt where 65 tombs have been discovered to date. For a long time, the Egyptians buried their pharaohs in pyramids, but tomb robbers often plundered the valuable treasures and grave goods. Therefore, the kings of the New Kingdom wanted to hide their tombs and built them in the Valley of the Kings. The most famous tomb in the Valley of the Kings is the tomb of Tutankhamun
