Sethos Temple
The city of Abydos is located about 153 km north of Luxor, and the most important structure in Abydos is the mortuary temple of Sethos I, which was completed by his son Ramses.
Inside the temple is the so-called King List, which shows all the pharaohs from Menes (the founder of the first dynasty) to Sethos.
The temple has a large facade with 12 square columns, followed by a hypostyle hall. The temple has seven chapels for seven gods.
The walls of the temple are covered with beautiful reliefs depicting the king performing before various gods.
And behind the temple is the so-called Osirion or the false tomb of Osiris.
The temple of Ramses II
is a temple in Abydos that King Ramses built in the 13th century BC in the ancient Egyptian capital Abydos.
In this temple, Ramses II was worshipped, and after his death, rituals were performed for him.
Unfortunately, this temple is destroyed, and its ruins are located about 270 meters away from the mortuary temple of his father Sethos.
Shunet Elzebib
Shunet Elzebib is a large mudbrick structure in Abydos, Upper Egypt. It dates back to the second dynasty, around 2700 BC,
and was built by King Kahsekhemwy.
